Design Philosophy
What Intrigued Me?
I have always had an active imagination. My family took me to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis quite often. This place was magical. There was a dinosaur exhibit, a wildlife exhibit, you could mine, and (my personal favorite) a "real" town that led you to the train. Everything was so lifelike that you would forget you were in a museum. They would change out the exhibits throughout the years, and every single one brought you into a new world. I remember I would try to understand how they got things to look that realistic. How did they have buildings inside of buildings? Not to mention, the architecture of the museum itself is phenomenal.
When I was 19, I got a job at a furniture and home decor store called West Elm. I started as a sales associate, and eventually moved up to a home stylist. This is when I had my real "ah-ha" moment. I was helping a young lady who was moving into her first studio apartment. She was ecstatic. Her new apartment came furnished, so she needed accessories and bedding to really make it her own. After talking to her for a bit, I put together some bedding and accessories to go with it. She was almost in tears because she loved it all. I never realized how much joy that could bring to someone else. This is when I realized I could do this as a career to make others that happy.
Why Interior Architecture?
I want to bring people's imaginations to life, and create dreams that they never thought could be a reality. I want to design out of this world buildings and bring back imagination that has been lost due to technology (I'm a 90's kid, the change was pretty drastic). I would love to be able to inspire others to go outside the norm and to see that the possibilities are endless. All in all, I want to bring joy into this world through design.
